Reproduce: Program Orientasi Rakan Muda PORAM 2008

Salam,

1st and foremost, on behalf of Alumni (xSRMers) and personally, I would like to congratulate the PORAM 2008 working community for turning this wonderful event into reality. Starting from planning, managing and to the day when PORAM is commenced, all of you has putting a lot of effort and cracked you head to secure the success of our ritual episode. Millions of thank you!
Maybe some of you could not make your presence at Kem Lambaian Danau, Jasin, Melaka but without your constituent PORAM would never make it appearanced again as it was on 8, 9 and 10 of August 2008. For the hardcore (Sue, Izumy, Ziela, Roi, Mimi, Dayana, Ena and others), you girls earned the highest appreciation from us, the Alumni for taking care of PORAM 2008 to the end. Mucho gracias!!

PORAM was held in a remote area surrounded by trees and lake with proper facilities, well planed camping site, accommodation for guest, toilet and bathroom for 50 ~70 peoples, kayaking facility, open hall with adequate lighting and PA system and surau.
The criteria of Kem Lambaian Danau are sufficiently to set the sense of humble as a basic of leadership for ARM.

As P.Lah, Fatin, Arin, Ana and I went with the activities; we are much agreed that the consultant hired has done a good job in planting the spirit of teamwork. You can shout at the ARM “Apa yang penting??!!” and you will hear they reply “Kerjasama!!!”. Through the activity, the consultant, led by Pak Lek has implemented the basic rules of organization - cooperation, trust, friendship, goal, collective action, tolerance and etc. The Alumni really hopes to see the new generation could utilizes the values they had learned into the society life and put the Sekretariat up onto a new level.

Looking at the current situation, it is understandable to see why consultant is hired to conduct PORAM - Test week, whereby quite a number of Sekretariat members had to face their test papers during PORAM that pull them back from handling this event. But as we observe the trend, the Alumni are somehow uneasy to see PORAM is being taking care by other party. This is because PORAM is the key program where Sekretariat could apply and plant the core values of SRMer- True face, outspoken, energetic, fun, respect, teamwork and other, the way of SRMer identity into SRMer wannabe. That is including songs and games, ritual, tradition, jargons and many more.

Therefore it is advisable that for future planning, PORAM is to be steered by our own hands. This is to ensure the tradition is preserved from one SRMer generation to the next. PORAM is also a working field for our own Sekretariat members to acquire experiences in managing program – our ultimate strength.

Personal message to our respected President, please prepare and equips the Sekretariat members with the necessary skills. It could be done only and only when the member had the hands on experience of managing program, especially PORAM. We are more than open heart to lay our hands if there is call to do so. We will at your finger tip.

The Alumni (C.Bird, Aimee, C.pah, Lai, Zai, Weeda, Kacuk, Zul, Jaja, Piang, Kamal, Yus and many more) has sent their gratitude and best regards to the present SMRers and to the ARM. They wished that the legacy and spirit of Sekretariat would be carry forward through by the young blood from ARMs. Therefore, the Alumni are really concerned on the success of the objective of PORAM – to color and turn the ARM to be true SRMer).

Believe it that even though the Alumni who are unable to turn themselves up at PORAM due to life commitment, halve of their heart are at the Kem Lambaian Danau- wondering how their successor would look and be like.

Much to say, but it is better for me to hold up until a suitable occasion. One thing for sure when I looked at ARM, they are eager to gain and grow much to be a SRMer. So the High Council and Sekretariat members, take this hope and turn it real. For the brilliant future of Sekretariat Rakan Muda UTMJB, for the better us. Bravos!!!
